Belmond is giving the Copacabana Palace a new reason to stay longer. On 3 November 2026, as part of the grand reopening of the hotel’s Pool Wing, the Rio de Janeiro landmark opens a Wellness Club over five floors, and at its heart the first Dior Spa in Latin America.
A club above the pool
For a century the Copacabana Palace has been the place where Rio celebrates, and its pool terrace has always been the centre of that life. The new Wellness Club rises directly above it in the renovated Pool Wing and gathers five separate spaces under one roof. On the ground floor the fitness centre, equipped with Technogym’s Artis line, spreads across two rooms. Beside it are a private studio for movement and yoga and a room for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, where guests can learn the martial art or keep up their practice.
Guests who prefer to train in private find a yoga mat in every room, and a team of personal trainers is on hand. The second floor is given over to recovery: saunas including an infrared cabin, a steam room, an ice bath and an ice fountain for contrast therapy, followed by a relaxation lounge with botanical waters, teas and small plates built on traditional Brazilian ingredients.
The new Suco Bar works with Brazilian produce, superfoods and remedies handed down through generations. A hair salon, a barbershop and a Beauty Lounge complete the club. The lounge is a private room for guests preparing for a wedding, a celebration or an event at the hotel, with Dior products or with their own make-up artists.

Six rooms for Dior
The Dior Spa Copacabana Palace has six treatment rooms and a generous boutique for the Maison. It will be the only address in Rio where La Collection Privée, the haute perfumery line by Dior perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, can be bought, together with L’Or de Vie, the skincare and longevity line made with extracts from Château d’Yquem. The Prestige line, based on the Granville rose that is harvested once a year, is on the shelves too, and the Dior Maison wellness line makes its debut in Brazil here.
The signature treatment exists only in this spa. The Healing Heart Ceremony is a holistic ritual inspired by the energy of the ocean, in which semi-precious stones vibrate with sound therapy instruments such as singing bowls. The familiar Haute Wellness menu is there as well, including Kobi-Dior, a precise facial massage developed with Dior International Wellness Expert Hadda Akrim from the Japanese Kobido technique, and New Look Dior, a full-body treatment that combines sculpting, drainage and micro-stimulation.
Two treatments made for Rio
For the opening, Dior works with the Brazilian dermatologist Dr. Maria Bussade, founder of Bussade Health in São Paulo. Together they have created two treatments that are offered only at the Copacabana Palace. The Couture Radiance Facial combines massage, dry brushing and micro-current therapy for firmer, luminous skin. The Carioca High Sculpt borrows from Brazil’s celebrated art of body sculpting to detoxify, tone and reshape.
The bond between the Maison and the hotel is older than the spa. In 1961 Marc Bohan, creative director at Dior from 1960 to 1989, showed an Haute Couture collection in the gardens of the Palace, and fourteen years later he chose Copacabana Beach as the backdrop for the photographs of his swimwear collection.
What it changes about a stay in Rio
For members who know Rio as a city of late nights, the Pool Wing changes the shape of a stay. A morning can begin on the thermal floor or with a trainer, the afternoon belongs to the pool and the evening to the city. We book the treatments together with the suite, so that the Healing Heart Ceremony or the Couture Radiance Facial fits around flights, dinners and the beach rather than the other way round. The doors open on 3 November, and early dates are worth securing now.
